Day 29 repost: Stuck using the Italian Language.

I wrote this post once already, but the Blogger app crashed and it won't let me pull it up. It shows as perpetually publishing. I really don't want to write this post twice, so I'll just do it in bullet form.

- flight was fine, no problems. Had to get on bus from the gate to the plane.

- it's difficult switching from Italian words to French words despite knowing the basic French words better. Kept talking to people in the wrong language.

- got scammed at train station. Small amount, but upset with myself. Don't want to talk about it, please don't ask, am embarrassed about it.

- Walked uphill to Sacre Coeur Basilica, lively area at the top. Place de Tertre very lively.

- Lots of people painting in Place de Tertre, try to get your portrait, not agressive.

- Lots of tourist predators trying to sell you stuff, very aggressive, will try to stop you physically. Scary at times. Worse than Naples.

- Walked by Dali Espace, didn't go in - surrealist art. Don't think I can appreciate it.

- Walked by Bateau Lavour, many famous artists had set up studio there (Picasso) took a picture.

- Sacre Coeur Basilica was packed - not enjoyable. Like the Vatican, but not as beautiful - felt like farmed cows being pushed to slaughter house.

- Did some shopping and walking around. Lots of tourists.

- Had dinner at La Petraudiere - piano bar: someone playing piano all the time. He played one song I knew, screwed up, nobody noticed, smooth transition to new song. Food was mediocre, but for decent price. Wine was expensive, served too cold. Will splurge on good meal on last night in Paris.

- After dinner, got good pictures of city from top of hill in front of Sacre Coeur. Not many pictures today.

- Weather is great. Sort of like a warm Vancouver day with a cool breeze. Nothing like the sticky hot Italy.
